Data organization and permissions
Data organization
Unwrap manages users via Organizations and Views. An Organization is the set of users you want to collaborate with, and who will all have access to the same data.
A View is where you integrate one or more data sets (e.g. your Zendesk feed would be a data set) that you want Unwrap to generate insights on. An Organization can have many Views. For example, you may want one View to aggregate your public mobile app feedback, and a separate View for your NPS data.

User permissions
There are two buckets of permissions in Unwrap.
Organization-level permissions
The first is at the Organization level. Here, there are two permission types:
- Admins, who can invite/remove users to the Organization, grant others Admin rights, and control the more granular View-level permissions of others (more on this below)
- Members, who can perform analysis, and depending on their View-level roles, can edit taxonomies, Groups, etc.
Every user in your Organization will be either a Member or Admin.
View-level permissions
The second level of permissions are at the View level, called Roles. Since each View contains potentially different data sets, and may cater to different teams within your business, you can control which users have certain levels of access, per View. Here the Roles:
- Contributor: Contributors can make edits to the View's taxonomy (e.g., creating/deleting Groups, changing hierarchy, etc.), add/delete Charts within Boards, and correct AI decisions (e.g. correcting sentiment labels, adding/removing feedback from Groups).
- Viewer: Viewers can only view the data/insights in a View, they cannot take any of the actions listed above that Contributors have rights to
- Replier: If your View is enabled to respond to feedback, Repliers are allowed to send responses to customers. You can hold both a Replier role and one of the other roles. If your View does not have Replying enabled, Replier roles will provide no additional functionality.
Please note that a user in your Organization may have different roles for different views, as determined by the Org admins.
Adding New Users to Organizations
You can invite new users to your Organization from the Organizations page. Newly invited users will receive an email invite link.
If users land on links to Views owned by Organizations those users don't have access to, they can request access which will trigger a request to the Organization's admin.
